For a few years now I’ve been working with a wonderful committee helping to raise vital funds for the Preston James Fund.
My friend Mary lost her son Preston in 2003 after he had experienced pneumonia and subsequently suffered a lung injury. This allowed a secondary bacterium to invade his body, causing an overwhelming sepsis, which took his life.
We raise money for intensive care initiatives for kids. The funds go toward things like research, equipment and staff training. At present we are supporting the team at Brisbane’s Mater Children’s Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
